This is the first entry on my new blog. The purpose is to pass news to family and friends, bring them up to date with pictures, and just generally keep in touch. I will also post items I find interesting on health, the economy, thrift, recipes, and whatever else grabs my attention. Maybe some of you will be interested too. Feel free to comment.
A little about my family: Married to Harold for 54 years as of March 4 this year. And they said it wouldn't last. Pessimists said 6 months, optimists gave us a year. Guess we showed them!
Two children: David, divorced with one daughter, Jessica, who is married to Jack, and has one daughter, Serenity age 7 months.
Patti, married to Randy, with 2 children, Jack and Sunshine. Jack is divorced (a lot of that going around) with a daughter D'Anna who is 2. Sunshine is married to Michael, and they have 2 daughters, Haley and Harley.
About the title of this blog: We moved to Oklahoma 26 years ago from Illinois, thus the Yankee epithet. As David Baldacci said in the book "Wish you Well," Once a Yankee always a Yankee.
I like quotes from famous people so plan to add one often. Like this one from Sandra Bullock, my favorite actress, "Your imperfections are what make you beautiful."
I was going through random blogs and was curious when I saw you had a dog who was 17 years old. I was curious what type of dog is it and what is his secret to such longevity?
ReplyDeleteShe is an Australian cattle dog, also known as a blue heeler in this part of the country. I don't know why she has lived so long, but she has never run loose, always in a fenced yard, is a well-trained indoor dog. She eats a dry food diet, with occasional table scraps. She gets lots of attention. Thanks for asking
